4_Props, anaerobic threadlockers like 242 & 222MS have the potential
to attack some plastics, causing embrittlement. Cyanoacrylates like our
425 (ordering item # 42540 - 20 gram bottle) are often substituted where this
compatibility issue exists. 425 is a low strength, removable product for
small threads and this is similar in strength to 222MS. This is certainly
compatible with the metals as well.

Description: I have a question about Loctite and hope you might help. In
the hobby of flying small quad-helicpoters we have to mount our propellers on
the motors with small screws. These screws need to be secured so that vibration
doesn't loosen them. This is a metal to metal small screw set. Several people
have had major problems because the Loctite they use causes the plastic
propellers to degrade and fail. We assume that the fumes/gas given off during
curing is the issue. We have tried several different Loctite formulas 242,
blue, 222MS. What blend is the best for this application? We need a thread
locker that works with very small screws. That is NOT permanent and SAFE around
plastic or carbon fiber model propellers. I would like to share this
information with the many hobbyists on the internet I chat with. Thank you.
